This creation, management, and handling of this site is handled by an external party hired by the Mizuno OMOTENASHI Cup Japan Executive Committee (hereinafter “the committee”) trusted to retain personal information on their part.

The committee has created the following privacy policy (hereinafter “this policy”) to regulate the handling of personal information of those who access this site (hereinafter “users”).

1.Acquisition of personal information

The committee shall gather personal information through legal and appropriate measures when necessary for purposes of holding the competition as outlined in the intents of use listed in section 2 below.

The committee shall only use user personal information as necessary in accordance with the intentions of use listed below. Without further express consent, personal user information will not be used for any purpose other than those listed.

  • Asking questions about the competition
  • Contacting users about the competition
  • Processing application to participate in the competition
  • Reporting results of the competition
  • Usage for completion of committee duties as deemed necessary, including the management of user information and other information.
3.Management of personal information

In order to prevent leakage, alteration, loss, and improper use of personal information, the committee shall carefully manage personal information in an appropriately secure environment in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and guidelines.

4.Operations entrusted to third parties

In order to ensure smooth operations, the committee has delegated a portion of business operations to a third party. The third party may be tasked with handling personal information within the confines of the stated intentions of use. The committee shall select a third party that has appropriately high standards of personal information protection, and they shall be required to consent to a Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to guarantee that personal information provided to the third party is managed appropriately. The committee shall conduct the necessary oversite to assure that appropriate management is taking place.
Personal information needed to for billing or settling accounts may be provided to billing agents, account settlement agents, and credit card companies.

5.Concerning provision of personal information to third parties

Aside from the established third party to which operations have been delegated, the committee shall not provide personal information to any third party without express consent of the person in question. However, for the following situations, exceptions may be made.

  • When it is ordered as a matter of law
  • When it is necessary to prevent loss of life, bodily damage, or property damage, and it is difficult to secure permission from the person in question.
  • When it is necessary as a matter of public sanitation or when it is crucial to promote the health and education of children, and it is difficult to secure permission from the person in question.
  • When it is necessary to take appropriate countermeasures against users who break the usage agreement of this site or attempt to break the usage agreement of this site to damage the profits of another or to act against the public good.
  • When the information accompanies a merger, transfer of business, or other occurrence that causes business operations to be transferred.
  • When the committee must task a third party bound by a privacy contract with the minimal private information required to fulfill a request or task outlined in the above-mentioned intents of use.
  • When a national government organ, local public body, or an third party representing them requires cooperation in affairs as required by law, and directly obtaining permission from the person in question is deemed to present an obstacle to the completion of those duties.
  • Any other reason covered by related laws.
  • To process credit card payments in advance, user credit card information will be sent to the company appointed to directly handle settlements or to the credit card company.
6.Records on internet server

The committee records website access status and other information in a log file. The log file will only be used for website improvement, detecting unauthorized access, collecting tournament sponsors, and marketing efforts such as attracting customers. Also, individual users cannot be identified from records in the log file.

7.Treatment of personal information with assigned anonymous names

In accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the committee shall assign users anonymous name for use and provision third parties. When anonymous assigned names are created and provided, it will be publicly announced on designated headings on this website in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Also, in order to prevent leakage, alteration, loss, identification, and improper use of anonymous information, the committee shall handle the information in accordance with applicable laws, policies, and guidelines.

8.Cookies

In order to save user information, this website uses cookies to save user page settings as set by the user on the user’s PC. These cookies cannot be accessed from the server side.

Cookies are used to enhance user ease-of-use of the website.

9.Privacy policy changes

The committee shall endeavor to make continuous improvements after appropriate reconsideration of personal information usage status, so it may make changes to this policy when deemed necessary. When changes are made, users will be notified through announcements on this website.
